In the afterglow of the Massachusetts election and while the democratic machine searches desperately for a way to make the election not look like an absolute repudiation of the Obama Agenda by liberal Massachusetts, we should pause and give thought to what we witnessed over the last seven months. Swept into office with a historic vote, the Obama Administration set upon the American economic system like a giant swarm of ravenous locusts. Provisioned with enormous sums of money by way of the 'stimulas' packages, the Administration quickly converted 'stimulus' money into 'bribe' money and began buying Senators and Representatives on a scale never before seen. State after state witnessed it's elected representatives being openly bought by an administration making good on it's promise to fundamentally change America.
While it is true that our government never before has owned a car manufacturer, and it is true that for the first time, the government now owns 90% of the mortgage industry, and it can not be denied that the government controls the banking industry, these are not the fundamental changes that I find so abhorrent. These things can easily be undone.
The fundamental change made to America by this administration is in the level of corruption that the American people will accept. As a free people, we know that free men sometimes go bad. Our system of justice seeks to identify these people, and bring them to a court of law for judgement. However, under this administration, bribery has become an accepted means of persuading Congress to enact the Presidential Agenda. Far from the give and take that is a normal part of the American legislative process, this Administration has seized upon the stimulus money as it's own slush fund and used it in the open purchase of votes, and no one is enraged. Not ABC. Not NBC. Not CBS. Not FOX. Not The New York Times. No one.
As an American voter, I am. I don't expect my congressional representation to be saints, but I do expect them to be fundamentally honest people. We vote these people into office, and they are in their congressional seats by virtue of us, the people, charging them with representing our interests in the Federal Government. When it becomes acceptable to accept bribes in exchange for votes, a fundamental change has occurred in the American political process.
It's been a long time coming. Obama didn't do this alone, but he did take it to the next level. The utter corruption of the Federal Government, predicted long ago by Jefferson, is complete. The question now, is this: Will we accept this corruption?, or, next November, will we fundamentally change America?

Wisdom From The Backseat of a 1968 Bonneville
On the morning of May 27, 1973 two weather systems collided over Jonesboro, Arkansas and produced three tornados. The tornados ripped through the sleeping town, and converged near the High School. During the height of the storm, lightening lit the night in a strobe effect as roofs lifted off of scores of homes and buildings, and baseball sized hail pounded divits cars and shredded the roofs of convertables. In a 30 minute period, nearly ten thousand residents of a sleeply Arkansas town became homeless.
In the parking lot of the High School, a friend of mine had parked his car, and was 'listening to music' with his girlfriend. The three funnel clouds converged over Jonesboro High, and my friend's 1968 Bonneville convertable. My friend, laying on top of his girlfriend in the spacious backseat of the car when the winds ripped the cloth top off of the convertable. He was beaten badly by the hail the huge hailstones, rendered nearly deaf by the thunder clap when lightening struck the hood of the Bonneville, and buried under debris from the levelled High School buildings. The whole terrifying experience had a profound effect on Mark, and he emerged a changed man.
Today, Mark is a priest.
Yesterday, a storm swept through Massachusetts. In the Senate seat where once sat Ted Kennedy, patron saint of the limousine liberal, now will set the 41st vote against Health Care, and a staunch opponent of the President's agenda.
The President's political future is in the midst of it's own near death experience. After being pummelled in the latest New Jersey election, battered in the latest Virginia election, and now blown away in of all places, Massachusetts, the leadership of the Democrat Party must crawl from it's own backseat, and look around at the wreckage.
My friend Mark survived his near death experience, saw the light, repented his sins and changed his life.
What will the Democrat Party do?

Change I Can Believe In
America has always been different from the rest of the world.
We are a sovereign people. We believe strongly in individual rights and responsibility. It is written in our founding documents, and flowing in our veins, and it is what has attracted millions of people for 200 years. Those who came to our great country fled oppression and domination of corrupt governments and societies. They chose self-reliance over dependence. They voted with their feet.
Today, our elected representatives and our elected president are working overtime to transform this nation of independent, self-reliant citizens into subjects beholding to a European style Welfare state. The social cesspools that the crumbling cities have become have produced of some of the most repressive and repugnant politicians this country has ever known.
As we start into this election cycle, look hard at your congressmen. Understand that these bastards have sold us all out. Even congressmen from the heartlands...Nebraska, Arkansas, Louisiana have all dipped their thieving hands into the porkbarrel that our federal budget has become and accepted 30 pieces of silver for your freedoms. Because Barak Obama was able to bribe them with our money, they think that they can bribe us with it too. When they come back to their districts and states, and talk about all the 'good' things they have brought home, remember they are not bringing anything home. With every 'problem' they 'solve', they are taking a little more of your freedom and your wealth to Washington.
So as we enter the election cycle, encourage people who are not absolute idiots to run for national office. We need people who know if you want to solve the terrorist problem, you have to shoot them. If you want to deal with violent crime, you have to go after the criminals. I want to vote for someone who understands that if you need gasoline, you need to drill for oil and build refineries.
In Novemeber, let's send a whole new congress to Washington to take America back for the average working American.
Now, that would be change I could believe in.

Through the Looking Glass
While the US is conducting two wars against muslim terrorists, a man with known terrorist associations and carrying military grade plastic explosives in his underwear and a chemical detonator boards a plane in Nigeria, and our Secretary of Homland Security tells us that this man was not part of an organized cell. So, where do we think he got the PETN? Home Depot?
The top Anti-Terrorist guy in the Obama administration goes on national TV, and when asked how we can expect to extract intelligence from this guy now that we have granted him Constitutional rights and he has lawyered up says that once the terrorist hears what they are prepared to offer, 'he'll start talking'. We're going to 'plea bargin' with this guy?
Hunker down, and stock up on ammo. This war is coming to a shopping center near you. The message to Al Queda out of this incident is that we as a society, are not capable of defending our citizens. Our leadership are naive fools, and do not recognize that we are in a war. We will treat the terrorists as criminals, and eventually free them.
In eighteen months, when we take the pressure off of them in Afghanistan, they will be free to train, equip and dispatch their minions. Flush with money from Arab oil and Afghani poppies, they will mount operations from all corners of the globe to bring death and destruction to the United States, and our president will persist in his view that we are not at war. Our government will not come to grips with the fact that this is the first global guerilla war against a decentralized self-directing ideology until the radical, rookie ideologue in the White House is thrown out replaced with an experienced realist. Thank God for elections.
So hunker down, buy some ammo and prepare to protect your family. However, be aware that if you break our gun control laws, you will not be plea bargained with. You will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law because, while muslim terrorists may not represent a threat to our government, an awakened, informed and pissed off electorate does.
